Some Bagpipe History

Although the early history of the bagpipe is still unclear, it seems likely from what is known that the instrument was first developed around 400 BC from an instrument similar to a hornpipe.

FDNY EMS Pipes and Drums welcomes any person with the FDNY EMS, as pipers, drummers or as adjunct support personnel.

If you would like to join FDNY EMS Pipes and Drums, you may contact the Pipe Major or the Business Manager.
